What is Success?

February 16, 2015 in motivational

For many of of us the principles of success are elusive. We spend much of our time and effort chasing and creating a successful life. How do we know when we become successful? Is it wrapped up in a feeling, a knowing? What is it and how will we know it?

Success is not the same for everyone. It is defined by each individual’s unique personality. We often forget this as we are bombarded by today’s distractions and allurements. Our attention is riveted to the successes imprinted on our mind’s eye of other successful people. These can be a resource or blueprint, but may not reflect who we are.

How do we define our success? Follow your passion. Be passionate. It sounds so simple. Being passionate has purpose, focus and commitment, which are qualities of a successful person. Being passionate allows us to develop our unique talents and strengths.

Go ahead and live passionately! Count your blessings. Start a grateful journal. Let go of resentment and blame. Set goals; these will give you focus and direction. Keep your eye on the ball. Awareness of yourself and your inner and outer resources are important. Remember also to stay in the Now, living one moment at a time. You have no control over the past or the future. Thinking outside the present will just give you stress and anxiety that can deter you from your goals and success.

Live in the present, live today, live the beauty of today. Success is a process so enjoy the journey.
